    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the release of their debut single, The Boy Least Likely To release the original 7” single version of ‘Paper Cuts’ digitally for the first time along with a super limited 7” vinyl.

Originally released as a limited edition hand-stamped 7” single in 2003, ‘Paper Cuts’ was the first invitation into the weird and wonderful universe of The Boy Least Likely To.

The A-side was a miniature lo-fi pop masterpiece that mixed wonky synths with gently strummed acoustic guitars, which Pitchfork described as channelling “Brian Wilson via Summerteeth-era Wilco through the lens of Aztec Camera”.

“It's a broken-hearted ballad about helplessness against an ever-changing world,” they went on to write, “but it also points to the essential precariousness of what makes The Boy Least Likely To so appealing. ‘If you throw a light on something magical it disappears,’ Jof sings. Let’s hope not.”

Its flip side was the psychedelic slacker pop gem ‘Sleeping With a Gun Under My Pillow’. Leaning more into the band’s country-folk influences with slide guitars and harmonica, it sounded like an unlikely collaboration between George Harrison and Dogbowl.

Eventually re-recorded for their debut album The Best Party Ever, both these versions were only available on the original vinyl until now. The new 7” version is limited to 25 copies and comes on hand-stamped vinyl in a card sleeve with replica flyers, signed inserts and a button badge.
